COM-8005  Signal Delay / Satellite Simulator

The COM-8005 uses its 256MB memory to delay a baseband input in real-time. Thanks to the large memory, the delay can be substantial: 2.6 seconds with 2x10-bit complex baseband signals at the maximum sampling rate of 40 MSamples/s. Of course, the delay can be even longer when decimation is used.

Ancillary functions include: DC bias removal, frequency offset, phase offset and decimation, all programmable.

The COM-8005 interfaces directly to the family of COM-300x RF, IF and baseband receivers. It also interfaces directly to many baseband, IF and RF modulator ComBlocks at its output, making it perfectly suited for satellite channel simulation.

 COM-3009 Dual 12-bit A/D converter 135 MSamples/s

The COM-3009 is no ordinary dual A/D converter. For starters, it includes an AGC to adjust the dynamic range over 24 dB.

Another feature is the front-end filter which can be configured at the time of order as low-pass or bandpass. The bandpass configuration is of particular interest when using the COM-3009 as IF undersampling (centered at 70 MHz or 140 MHz for example).

Another important feature is the ability to program the sampling frequency anywhere in the range from 40 MHz to 135 MSamples/s by steps of 1 MHz. Users can therefore select which Nyquist zone to operate at. The built-in frequency synthesizer generating the sampling clock shows excellent phase noise performance (and thus very low jitter).
