LAN TCP-IP COM-5001 -> Arbitrary Waveform Generator COM-8001 -> Dual D/A conversion COM-2001 Load a file containing in-phase and quadrature sinewave samples (I & Q channels). Playback the file into a dual D/A converter. Check the waveform purity using an oscilloscope. The ComBlock assembly IP address is configured to be 172.16.1.128 If this IP address does not match your network, edit the 5001_8001_2001.stn file (change the COM-5001 registers 0-3 [IP address], 4-7 [IP mask] and 8-11 [IP Gateway]. The initial register settings are as follows: COM-5001: AC 10 01 80 FF FF FF 00 AC 10 01 01 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 COM-8001: COM-2001: No registers to configure Proper operation can be verified as follows: (a) connect a serial cable between the host PC and the DB9 connector of the COM-5001 (b) connect a COM-5001 to the LAN. (c) connect two coaxial cables between the COM-2001 output and a dual trace oscilloscope. (d) import the 5001_8001_2001 configuration file (e) using the ComBlock Control Center Functions | Pattern Generator, upload the file "sine_wave_I_Q_2560.txt" (same directory as the 5001_8001_2001.stn settings file). The file contains samples in decimal format. Do the entire upload, starting at address 0. Select Action = Start Upload. Then Apply. The menu should show a quick progress bar, then indicate upload completion with 2560 bytes uploaded. (f) using the ComBlock Control Center Functions | Pattern Generator, download the file. The data is 'pushed', at a rate of 200Ksamples/s, with 20 bit output width. Select Action = Start continuous download. Then Apply. The oscilloscope should show two perfect sinewaves, 90 deg out of phase, of amplitude 1.5Vpp.
