COM-5002 LAN/TCP-IP Network Interface -> COM-8001-B Arbitrary Waveform Generator 1GB Test objective: Automated test of a large but partial section of the 1GB SDRAM memory. Write pseudo random data (about 200 MBytes, spanning the two SDRAM SODIMMs), read back and compare the checksum in the status registers. The ComBlock assembly IP address is configured to be 172.16.1.128 If this IP address does not match your network, edit the 5002_8001B.stn file (change the COM-5002 registers 0-3 [IP address]. Proper operation can be verified as follows: (a) connect a COM-5002 to the LAN. (b) power up the comblock assembly, wait 7 seconds for the FPGAs to be configured. Using the ComBlock Control Center, detect the ComBlocks (2nd button from the left). (c) From the File|Import menu, import the 5002_8001B configuration file. (d) From the Functions | Pattern Generator menu, open the pattern generator control window. upload the file "\Basic settings\PRBS11_1bw_200MB.bin" (same directory as the 5002_8001B.stn settings file on the ComBlock CD). The file contains samples in binary format. Do the entire upload, starting at address 400,000,000 (byte/decimal). Select Action = Start Upload. Then Apply. The menu should show a quick progress bar, then indicate upload completion with 209,612,800 bytes uploaded. (e) using the ComBlock Control Center Functions | Pattern Generator, download the file (size is 209,612,800 bytes), starting at address 400,000,000 (byte/decimal). The data is 'pushed', at the maximum rate of 40Msamples/s, with 20 bit output width. Select Action = Start single download. Then Apply. The entire download for the 1.6 Gbits should take about 2 seconds. (f) Close the Pattern Generator window. Display the status registers (4th button from the left). Verify that - The upload checksum is 00 90 in status registers 31 and 32 respectively. - The download checksum is also 00 90 in status registers 33 and 34 respectively.
